CHINESE PHYTOTHERAPY
Chinese fytotherapie
Chinese phytotherapy focuses on restoring balance in the body by combining multiple herbs into one formula. Our preparations are carefully composed, based on traditional principles and modern pharmaceutical standards.
WHAT IS CHINESE PHYTOTHERAPY?
Working with combinations of herbs
Chinese phytotherapy uses well-balanced herbal formulas to restore the body’s natural balance. De NatuurApotheek offers high-quality herbal preparations based on traditional principles, tailored to the needs of practitioners and their patients, with a strong focus on quality and efficacy.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), herbal formulas have been used for thousands of years to correct imbalances between Yin and Yang, Qi, Blood, and Fluids. Whereas Western medicine often focuses on symptoms, TCM aims to restore the underlying energetic balance.
Traditional knowledge, modern preparation
De NatuurApotheek combines the ancient wisdom of Chinese phytotherapy with modern quality standards. We ensure that each herbal preparation is:
-
Composed according to traditional principles
-
Compliant with pharmaceutical standards for purity and consistency
-
Tailored to the individual needs of the patient
Our preparations are available in various forms such as granules, hydrophilic extracts, tinctures, and capsules, allowing practitioners to prescribe flexibly.
Chinese phytotherapy is more than individual herbs
In TCM, the focus is not on single herbs but on carefully composed formulas in which herbs enhance or balance each other’s effects. This requires specialist knowledge and precise preparation — an area in which De NatuurApotheek excels.
Safe and effective use
Even natural remedies require expert application. Although Chinese herbs are considered natural, they can have powerful effects and interact with other substances. That is why we supply exclusively on prescription from therapists and physicians.
Why choose Chinese phytotherapy via De NatuurApotheek?
We offer practitioners reliable magistral preparations that combine the traditional power of TCM with modern pharmaceutical care. In this way, De NatuurApotheek supports you in safely and effectively applying Chinese herbs in daily practice.

Our granulate assortment is among the most extensive in Europe.

Single granulates
For Chinese phytotherapy, we supply approximately 500 single herbs in extract form. These extracts are produced under strict GMP standards in modern production facilities, with careful quality controls by both the manufacturer and independent Western laboratories.
To obtain 100 grams of extract, 500 grams of raw herb are used. This process ensures a powerful concentration of active substances. Exceptions are minerals, which are not decocted. Although KP also offers compound formulas, we prefer customized preparations with single extracts, allowing full transparency and flexibility in composition. This enables us to tailor preparations individually and often more cost-effectively than standard formulas.
You can find the standard dosages for various dosage forms in the chapter Dosage.
Compound granulate formulations
Our single herbs are mainly delivered in dry extract (granulate) form, both as individual components and fully customized formulations. In addition to KP's standard formulas, De NatuurApotheek offers the ability to create fully personalized compositions. If you know the exact formula, we recommend mentioning the reference in your prescription. If this is missing, we will base the formula on the Handbook of Chinese Herbs and Formulas by Him Che Yeung.
Capsules and tablets
Our TCM formulas are also available as capsule and tablet forms. Capsules and tablets are ideal for patients who prefer a user-friendly dosage form and thus achieve higher compliance, especially in long-term treatments. Capsules and tablets also allow for simple and accurate dosing. They ensure optimal absorption and effectiveness. Tablets disintegrate within 15 to 20 minutes and release the active ingredients evenly. Upon request, we can produce all formulas, including individual compositions, in capsule form.
As standard, two tablets and capsules contain 500 mg of active ingredients. The total tablet size is 600 mg, of which 100 mg consists of excipients such as cellulose, plant-based magnesium stearate, and silica. Capsule dosages can also be adjusted upon request in increments of 350 mg or 500 mg.
Suppositories
Suppositories can also be prepared based on granulate, with a standard dosage of 500 mg per suppository. This form is suitable for specific applications where oral intake is less desirable.
LIQUID EXTRACTS / HYDROPHILIC CONCENTRATES
Our hydrophilic concentrates are produced according to strict GMP standards. From the purchase of raw plant parts and raw materials to the final extract, these extracts undergo thorough quality control. Identity, purity, and the absence of heavy metals and pesticides are tested in independent laboratories in Taiwan, Belgium, and Switzerland. We offer one of the largest selections in Europe.
De NatuurApotheek offers a wide range of liquid extracts, including:
-
Hydrophilic concentrates (analyzed and standardized)
-
Syrups
Hydrophilic concentrates: analyzed and standardized
Hydrophilic concentrates (HC) are modern, potent, and safe liquid extracts that provide optimal activity without alcohol. The herbs are first extracted into a mixture of alcohol and water, after which the alcohol is carefully removed and replaced with glycerol. This ensures that the active substances remain preserved, while the final product is completely alcohol-free.
This property makes HC particularly suitable for children and people who avoid alcohol. Despite the low dosage, they are highly effective.
De NatuurApotheek produces the hydrophilic concentrates in its own laboratory with more than 50 years of experience in plant extraction, following strict pharmaceutical standards under the supervision of an experienced laboratory team.
Quality characteristics:
-
High and consistent concentration of active ingredients: herb : hydrophilic concentrate = 1:5
-
Strict quality controls from raw material to finished product
-
Shelf life: three years
Syrups
Syrups are a pleasant and well-tolerated way to ingest liquid extracts and essential oils. They simplify administration, especially for children and people with swallowing difficulties.
Characteristics:
-
Bottles of 200 ml
-
Shelf life: two years
-
Also available in a sugar-free version for people who must or wish to avoid sugar
RAW HERBS IN TCM
De NatuurApotheek also offers TCM medications in the form of raw herbs. Our raw herbs come from pharmaceutical wholesalers and specialized suppliers who always prioritize quality and safety. These partners deliver controlled, high-quality herbs that are certified by European laboratories to meet the highest quality standards.
The careful selection and preparation of herbal decoctions play an essential role in the efficacy of TCM formulas.
